The tournament, held at the sandy beach courts of Government Secondary School, Numan, erupted in cheers during the thrilling final matches.

Described as the best edition so far, the event featured intense competition from twelve male teams and six female teams vying for top honours.

In a fiercely contested men’s final, the Next Tsaraba Male Beach Volleyball Team from Jalingo overcame a resilient challenge from the Night Workers team of Yola, Adamawa State.

The champions secured victory in a gripping three-set encounter (21-19, 18-21, 15-10) to claim the gold medal and championship trophy. The bronze medal in the male category was clinched by the Hunters of Jalingo, who defeated the Rockets team two sets to one.

The women’s category saw a commanding performance by Next Tsaraba of Jalingo, who swept to victory with a straight-sets win (2-0) over the Zaky Queens of Yola, while Future Vollers secured third place on the podium.

The closing ceremony was a festive affair, with trophies and cash awards presented to the deserving winners amid cheers and celebrations from supporters.

The event was graced by the Chairman of the National Beach Volleyball Commission, DCP Steven Hasso (rtd), who delivered a message from the National President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engineer Musa Nimrod.

He commended the high standard of performance exhibited by all teams, adding that beach volleyball has come to stay in the Northeast region of Nigeria.

Hasso declared intentions to intensify efforts to expand the game’s coverage at the grassroots level to discover and nurture more talents.

The Chairman of Numan Local Government Council, Hon. Innocent Koto, in his speech advocated for a holistic approach to the sport and emphasised the dual benefits of youth participation in sports for physical wellbeing and economic empowerment.

The successful tournament has cemented Numan’s growing reputation as a hub for beach volleyball in the Northeast, with promises of an even larger and more competitive third edition.
