Nigeria at 64: Governor Fintiri Sees Hope Amidst Challenges

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has congratulated Nigerians on the country’s 64th independence anniversary, acknowledging the challenges faced during its journey to nationhood. Despite these hurdles, Nigeria has made significant progress, particularly since its return to democracy 24 years ago.

Fintiri emphasized the need for self-reflection and collective responsibility to address the country’s weaknesses. He stressed that success can only be achieved by accepting responsibility for actions and rejecting the victim mentality.

“Some of these weaknesses are within our means to correct, but we will only succeed if we are brave and honest enough to accept responsibility for our actions and reject the convenient attitude of playing the victim and blaming others.”

The governor reassured that his administration is committed to leaving no one behind and ensuring that every Adamawa citizen benefits from these efforts. “I commend you all for reaching this milestone, surviving pitfalls, and regaining dignity through democracy. Fintiri expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, saying, “I see hope in Nigeria’s future. Let’s work together to provide good governance and democracy dividends.” His administration plans to continue empowering Adamawa citizens through human capital development, infrastructure investments, economic boost, and improved living conditions.

Governor Fintiri commended the security agencies for their tireless efforts in maintaining peace and order in the state. He urged citizens not to compromise the hard-earned peace, emphasizing that his administration’s peace initiatives aim to promote harmony and understanding among citizens.
