Nigerian Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Mr. Kelvin Peter has on Tuesday at the Nigeria Embassy in Prague held a meeting with the Chairman, Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Prof. Peter Konvanlinka, and his team.

The meeting among other issues discussed Technology transfer and information exchange.

This according to Kevin will explore areas that will support and promote bilateral and multilateral agreements on scientific research & development activities including joint projects between Nigeria and the Czech Republic.

“The priority area agreement reached is the scientific research and development on Agricultural infrastructure and means of assisting small scale farmers using the mechanized system,” Peter said

Peter told TGNEWS correspondent through a telephone interview that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) has the Presidential Implementation Committee (PIC) inaugurated by the President and Commander In Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic if Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari to endure full implementation of the MoU.

Ambassador Peter also said that the PIC is having Alh Dahiru Mohammed as Chairman and Prof M.S Haruna, the Executive vice-chairman, National Agency for Science & Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) as the alternate Chairman to work in making sure the agreement is fully achieved and implemented.

“The PIC is charged with the responsibilities of ensuring full implementation, especially the most priority areas enshrined in the MOUs.
The two separate meetings were successful and as soon as possible actions will commence.” Said, Kevin

Ambassador Kevin further revealed that Nigeria and the Czech Republic have identified areas of security to foster their bilateral relations.

A meeting with the Deputy Minister of Defence, Mr. Kopecny, and his team was organized and discussed the existing bilateral relations between the two countries, revalidate the MoU in the areas of Security and Defence Cooperation.

“It is on record that there is a subsisting cordiality in the bilateral relations between Nigeria and the Czech Republic and will continue to be enhanced through, among others, meetings to serve as confidence-building measures.

“At the end, it was resolved that the Czech Republic Ministry of Defence will identify some relevant defense industry players to partner with Defence industries corporation of Nigeria (DICON) and other relevant agencies in the production of military equipment,” Kevin said
