Nigeria Police Force Undergoes Major Reorganization

In a significant move to enhance the effectiveness of the Nigeria Police Force, Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has ordered the immediate redeployment of Commissioners of Police (CPs) in Rivers, Delta, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). This strategic reorganization aims to optimize policing and address pressing security concerns across the country.

The new postings include the transfer of CP Olatunji Disu from Rivers State Command to FCT Command, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi from Delta State Command to Rivers State Command, and CP Peter Opara from FCT Command to Delta State Command.

Furthermore, the IGP has deployed four new CPs to Abia, Lagos, Ebonyi, and Akwa-Ibom State Commands, following approval from the Police Service Commission. These new postings include CP Danladi Nda to Abia State Command, CP Olanrewaju Ishola Olawale to Lagos State Command, CP Anthonia Adaku Uche-Anya to Ebonyi State Command, and CP Festus Eribo to Akwa-Ibom State Command.

The redeployment is expected to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to the respective commands, ultimately bolstering the Force’s effectiveness in maintaining law and order

The IGP has charged the new CPs to demonstrate diligence in their duties, adopt innovative strategies to mitigate security challenges, and align with the police reform plans. This reorganization reflects the IGP’s commitment to repositioning the Police Force for optimal performance and contributing to the country’s growth and development.
