The Former President of Nigeria, Rtd Gen. Yakubu Gowon says Nigeria cannot survive without the corporate support and help of both the two major religions worshipers in the country.
He said this during a courtesy call to Governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State’s in Government House Yola.
He stressed that the two days prayers visit is purely for the purpose of praying for Nigeria and the leadership of the country which is in dare need of God intervention.
According to him Christians and Muslim are more of a similar than a different because they offer the same kind of prayers to God,preaching the message of peace, unity and togetherness.
The scheduled visit is intended to tour the states of North Eastern part of Nigeria for prayers rally under a Program tagged “Nigeria Prays”.
He further explained that the prayers is purely going to dwell in the prayer angle of ” if my people who are call by my name shall humble themselves, seek my face then I will hear from heaven and I will heal their land”.
“We are here to pray for the Country and we started it since earlier 1999,i believe that If we can get all Nigerians to pray to God, He will heal our land as Nigerian cannot do without the help of Christian and Muslim,so we must be together “. He said
Gowon equally Praises the developmental strides of Governor Bindow to be quite impressive, as according to him he “saw development from airport to government house Yola”.
He said the development is unprecedented as the state is much developed unlike the previous years he had visited.
In his response Governor Bindow stated that he remain privileged and honor to have him in the state as he is a father to him ,and he call on him to earnestly pray for President Muhammadu Buhari and Adamawa State.
