Nigerian Troops Achieve Major Victory, Rescue 18 Kidnap Victims in Plateau

In a daring operation, troops of the Nigerian Army’s 3 Division and Operation Safe Haven have successfully rescued 18 kidnapped victims from a criminal hideout along the Taraba-Plateau border.

According to Major Samson Zhakom, Information Officer for Operation Safe Haven, the victims have been reunited with their families after undergoing profiling and documentation by relevant agencies. The rescue operation also led to the arrest of several criminals and the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and other dangerous weapons.

In a separate operation, troops from Sector Five of the Golden Peace Operations apprehended five bandits in the Tarangol area of Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State, recovering fabricated rifles, 7.62mm ammunition, cartridges, and daggers from the suspects.

Furthermore, troops intercepted bandits in Jannaret, Mangu Local Government Area, as they attempted to instigate unrest in the area. The apprehended suspects are being handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution, with investigations still underway.
