Nimrod: SWAN tasks President Tinubu to appoint passionate sports lovers to head ministry of sports

Sports writers association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Kaduna has tasked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to give keen considering in appointing people with much interest in things of sports in the country.

A communique issued by SWAN while commenting in the affairs of the nation tasked him to ensure that only people with passion for sports are appointed to head the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.

SWAN consider Engineer Musa Nimrod as one of the few Nigerians that paid his due in contributing to the growth and development of sports in Nigeria.

SWAN in their communique jointly singed by its Chairman and Secretary, Shehu Abdullahi, Jacob Onjewu Dickson respectively urged the newly sworn in President to consider Nimrod who is a dedicated sports lover and philanthropist that contributed immensely to sports development in Nigeria.

Kaduna SWAN while congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his historic swearing-in and like wise in the state affairs commended Senator Uba Sani, the newly sworn-in Governor of Kaduna State.

They Expressed their optimism that Uba Sani’s tenure, sports in Kaduna will be positively impacted, based on his track records.

They appealed to him to ensure that welfare of athletes of the state is adequately taken care of, to prevent poaching to other states during national competitions as experienced in the past.

SWAN members in their monthly meeting held at Ahmadu Bello Stadium, presided over by acting Chairman, Shehu Abdullahi deliberated also on several issues.

In some of the issues deliberated are commendation of SWANECO for doing a good job so far, demanded that the election of national officers of the association billed for Port Harcourt soon, be free fair and transparent.

They Commended their national president, Sir Honour Sirawoo for taking the association to greater heights during his two terms which will be elapsing soon and commended all members of the national executive for supporting him in taking decisive decisions.

On their coming convention, they appealed to all delegates to the national convention, to support candidates that would consolidate on achievements of Sir Honour Sirawoo.

“The congress resolved that Kaduna SWAN is backing Isaiah Kemje Benjamin for the position of the National President and urged other states to give same support.

“Appeal to other Presidential candidates to step down for him and join hands with him in taking the association to greater heights.” The communique read
