Fire has gut a section of the newly launched 650 million barrels per day Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals in Lagos, 9News Nigeria has gathered
A video clip shared on X shows a section of the refinery under fire.
According to reports, workers are currently outside the section affected by the fire.
The refinery which is the world’s largest single-train refinery is owned by Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.
Statement signed by Anthony Chijiena however said the fire at its effluent treatment plant was swiftly contained.
“A minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP), today Wednesday 26th of June.There is no cause for alarm as the refinery is operating and there is no recorded injury or body harm to all our staff on duty.” He said
