Lack of permanent teachers to teach English language and Mathematics as well as E-library at the Federal Government College Ganye in Adamawa state may affect the performance of final year students.

Mathematics and English language are prerequisite for gaining admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria while examinations for WASSCE, NECO/SSCE are done with Computer.

The Principal of the College, Umar Habeeb Jibrin disclosed this recently at the speech and prize giving day of the College, said despite non-permanent teachers in the core subjects the College recorded 79% pass of 2108 WASSCE and 87% pass in both NECO/SSCE and was rated first position in Physics for 2108 WASSCE among 104 Unity Colleges in the country.

Jibrin also revealed that the College came 2nd position in French language BEE competition in 2018, 1st and 2nd positions in NNPC 2019 science quiz at Local and State levels and 2nd position at the zonal female football competition in 2018.

He said the speech and prize giving day in the College became dormant but was able to resuscitate it in February 2018 upon resumption as the Principal to motivate students to read hard but the College is faced with challenges of potable water and accumulated electric bills.
