Former presidential candidate Peter Obi visited victims of recent attacks in Plateau State on Saturday, offering both emotional support and financial aid. The Labour Party leader donated ₦7.5 million to assist survivors and families affected by the violence, which has claimed numerous lives and displaced many in the region.

Obi, accompanied by aides and local leaders, toured hospitals and communities in the affected areas, listening to survivors’ stories and condemning the recurring attacks. “No Nigerian should live in fear,” Obi said, calling for urgent action to address insecurity and foster unity. He pledged the funds to support medical bills, rehabilitation, and community rebuilding efforts.
Local leaders praised Obi’s gesture, noting its significance in drawing attention to the plight of Plateau’s people. “This visit brings hope,” said community head, Elder Danjuma Pam. “We pray for more leaders to show such compassion.”
The donation comes amid growing calls for comprehensive security reforms as Plateau and other northern states grapple with persistent violence. Obi urged the government and stakeholders to prioritize peacebuilding and sustainable solutions.
As he departed, Obi reiterated his commitment to advocating for Nigeria’s vulnerable, leaving behind a message of resilience: “Together, we will heal and rebuild.”
