The executive governor of Adamawa state, Sen Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow hace bluntly denied allegations of plans to dump his Deputy,Engr Martins Nasir Babale who is a Christian for a Muslim running mate.
Muhammad denied the report carried out by Sahara reporters suggesting that he is planning to replace the deputy governor in favour of a Muslim candidate in 2019.
In a press conference by commissioner of information and strategy Ahmad Sajoh, the government denies such plot, describing the information as ” blatant lie peddled by fictitious writers and mischief makers”.
Governor Bindow and Babale came to power in 2015 and has expressed desire to contest for second tenure.
Online based news blog Sahara reporters were first to publish the story.
The story claimed that governor Bindow is under intense pressure to pick a Muslim running mate in 2019 to boost chances of winning.
Source of the report according to commissioner Sajoh is a “former politician who left the APC for PDP towards the 2015 elections”
The aim, Sajoh claimed, is to plunge Adamawa state into an unending crisis.
Moreover, he said governor Bindow is focused on fulfilling his promise to the electorate.
“No amount of blackmail, intimidation, or the unholy use of ethnic chauvinism and religious bigotry, political jingoism or agbero-journalism will derail us” sajoh said.
He dares anyone who has a bone to pick with governor Bindow to come out and face him in 2019.
