The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Northeast Zone has endorsed the Governors Forum’s stance on the party’s national leadership tussle. In a communique issued after their meeting in Bauchi, the Zonal Working Committee and state chairmen expressed support for the governors’ decision.

Chairman of Gombe State PDP, Alhaji Tahir Shehu, presented the communique to newsmen, stating that the meeting aimed to move the party forward. The communique aligned with the governors, Board of Trustees, National Assembly Caucus, and other key stakeholders.
The Northeast Zonal Leaders expressed optimism that this decision will bring stability and propel the party to greater heights. Reflecting on the party’s 16-year rule and 2015 loss to the All Progressive Congress (APC), Shehu noted that PDP’s years were a blessing, while APC’s administration has caused hardship.
The meeting affirmed PDP as Nigerians’ last hope and the only party capable of addressing current challenges. The Northeast Zone has historically been a PDP stronghold, producing notable leaders.
