The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in the 19 Northern States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has congratulated Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah on his appointment as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the newly established Federal University of Applied Sciences, Kachia, Kaduna State.
In a statement signed by Rev. Yakubu Pam, Chairman of Northern CAN, the organization described Bishop Kukah’s appointment as a testament to his immense contributions to the development of society, his commitment to education, and his exemplary leadership in both religious and civic spheres.
“Bishop Kukah has consistently championed the cause of justice, equity, and the advancement of human dignity, always working tirelessly to build bridges of understanding and peace,” the statement read.

Northern CAN expressed confidence that Bishop Kukah’s wisdom, integrity, and wealth of experience will greatly enhance the growth and development of the university, making it a center of academic excellence.
The organization also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Bishop Kukah to the position, describing it as a demonstration of his impartial leadership.
“We believe that if we have credible and patriotic Nigerians like Kukah in positions of authority, Nigeria will make more progress,” the statement said.
