President Bola Ahmed Tinubu delivered a candid and fiery remark during his visit to Kaduna State today, acknowledging the challenges of political opposition while reaffirming his resilience as Nigeria’s leader.
Speaking at the commissioning of key projects by Governor Uba Sani’s administration, the President declared, “Not everyone will like you in politics, they hate me like hell too. But I’m here, I am the President.”
The statement, which drew applause and murmurs from the crowd, came as President Tinubu inaugurated a 300-bed specialist hospital, the 24km Kafanchan road, the 22km Kauru-Kubau road, 100 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, and vocational training centres in Kaduna.
The projects reflect Governor Sani’s focus on healthcare, infrastructure, sustainable transport, and youth empowerment.
Addressing political leaders, supporters, and residents, Tinubu emphasized the inevitability of criticism in governance.

The President urged Governor Sani and other leaders to stay committed to their mandates despite opposition, praising Sani’s administration for its transformative initiatives.
Tinubu’s remarks appeared to address ongoing criticisms of his administration, including economic challenges and policy debates. Without naming specific critics, he underscored his determination to lead, stating, “I am the President, and my job is to work for the people, not to please everyone.”

The President also highlighted the significance of the commissioned projects, describing them as vital to Kaduna’s development and Nigeria’s broader progress.
He lauded the new hospital as a step toward improving healthcare access, the roads as catalysts for economic growth, the CNG buses as a sustainable transport solution, and the vocational centres as tools for empowering youths.
Governor Uba Sani, in his response, thanked President Tinubu for his support and leadership, pledging to continue delivering projects that uplift Kaduna’s residents. “Your presence here today inspires us to do more. We will not be distracted by naysayers,” Sani said.

The event was attended by state officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders, who hailed the projects as milestones in Kaduna’s journey toward development. Tinubu’s blunt remarks, however, stole the spotlight, sparking discussions on social media and among political analysts about the realities of leadership in Nigeria’s complex political landscape.
As President Tinubu concluded his visit, he reiterated his commitment to his Renewed Hope Agenda, urging Nigerians to remain patient and supportive as his administration tackles national challenges.
