The Nigeria Policing Programme (NPP) on Sunday incollaburation with the Adamawa state Community Service Policing and the police Community Relations Committee, (PCRC) has inaugurated the Yola North community service security.
In partnership with Yola North local Government Area, the community service security provided a plat form for stakeholders to strengthened the collaboration with police agency to conduct safety Audit and community sensitisation.
The Coordinator and Consultant of the programme, Mr. Bash Olasupo, advised the newly appointed executives to support and work with the Adamawa State Government and security agencies such as the Police and National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, towards tackling the menace of Drugs addiction amongst youth, the notorious Shilla Boys gangs, Rape and kidnapping in the state.
Responding, the newly appointed Chairman, Community Service Policing for Yola North local government area, Alhaji Inuwa Hamman, assured full support to the programme in ensuring peace and harmony not only in his area but the entire state.
He said with the support and cooperation of the public to the programme, security challenges facing the state would become a history.
Adamawa State has been facing security challenges that includes Boko Haram insurgency, Kidnapping, Notorious Shilla boys gangs and rape.
The Nigeria Policing Programme focus on strengthening accountability for professional standard, supporting the mainstreaming of Democratic Community Policing in the Nigeria Police and towards safety and security issues among others.
