A personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has tragically lost his life during the distribution of Ramadan and Sallah palliatives in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State.

The incident took place on Friday at an event organized by Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the member representing the Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
In a statement confirming the unfortunate event, Hon. Doguwa alleged that hoodlums attempted to disrupt the orderly distribution of relief materials, leading to the officer’s death amid the chaos.
The lawmaker expressed profound shock and sorrow over the incident, describing it as a tragic and regrettable loss. He extended heartfelt condolences to the NSCDC, the bereaved family of the deceased officer, and the residents of Tudun Wada.
“May Allah grant him mercy and forgiveness,” Doguwa said in the statement.
He urged security agencies to swiftly launch a comprehensive investigation to apprehend those responsible for the violence and ensure they face justice.
Doguwa also cautioned against the circulation of false information or defamatory claims directly implicating him in the incident, warning that legal action would be pursued to safeguard his reputation and that of his constituents.
The federal lawmaker, who personally oversaw the sharing of food items and other support materials to beneficiaries in the area, emphasized the need for greater vigilance at public gatherings to prevent such tragedies in the future.
This sad occurrence highlights the challenges often associated with distributing palliatives in densely populated areas, where desperation can sometimes lead to disorder.
The NSCDC is yet to release an official statement on the incident, but investigations are expected to commence promptly.
