Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Vows to Discipline, Dismiss, and Prosecute Officer Over Alleged Link With Bandits
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara State has condemned and vowed to take severe disciplinary action against one of its officers, Maikano Sarkin-Tasha, arrested by the police for allegedly supplying ammunition and drugs to bandits.
Zamfara State Commandant, Sani Mustapha, addressing the media at the command headquarters in Gusau, emphasized that the officer’s actions contradict the corps’ values of integrity, discipline, and compliance with ethical standards.

“We condemn this act in all ramifications as our command is known for integrity in service delivery, discipline, and compliance with ethical standards,” Commandant Mustapha said. “The command has zero tolerance for indiscipline, corruption, criminality, or any vices unbecoming of an officer of the Corps.”
The arrested officer had previously been reported for an irresponsible attitude to work, and efforts to track him were unsuccessful. Preliminary findings revealed that he was arrested at a checkpoint with cannabis and other hard drugs in his possession. Further searches at his residence uncovered three G3 rifle armors and one anti-aircraft gun armor, totaling four ammunition.
Commandant Mustapha assured that the NSCDC would work closely with other security agencies to ensure diligent disciplinary action, investigation, and prosecution. He reiterated the corps’ commitment to protecting critical national assets and citizens’ lives and property without compromise.

The Commandant will interface with Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dalijan, for further necessary action. The NSCDC promises to pursue the case with utmost transparency, ensuring the officer faces the full wrath of the law.
