It’s Unfortunately to understand this days that Nigerian politics have been polarised along religious and tribal lines. As it is, whenever a particular name or tribe is mentioned, regardless of the qualification or quality of such a person, some people in the opposite religion or tribe will begin to tongue lash negative of such a person. Most times on baseless and unfounded facts that can never be substantiated or verified.
My school of thought schooled me to know that in our society there are people who own and deserve our mutual respect under whichever coin of political divides. To me, these types of people should be respected whatever their religion, tribe, or Political party of affiliation.
In Adamawa, Nigeria, and the world at large, MALAM NUHU RIBADU (MNR) is one honest and respected Man the many countries in the world see him as a pillar of hope, holding strong principles of integrity as is a beaming light of existence. I find it difficult to believe what some microscopic group of people, Individuals, or community are saying about Malam Ribadu Tagging him as a Religious bigot, Tribalised, or fraudulent person despite his clean record of service, Commitment towards uniting not only Adamawa State but many communities in the country,
On peaceful coexistence. One doesn’t need a soothsayer to know that Nuhu on many occasions canvasses and peach for the need for unity despite our state’s multi-religion and multi dialectal nature. Of recent, during the wedding of Kevin Peter’s Daughter in Mubi, mounted on a podium and called for Unity in the length and breadth of the state. He attested that we are one in Adamawa should not allow the politics of religion to disunite us.
But it is, however, worrisome his political enemies are using this as a campaign of calumny to tarnish his political and personal image as the only way to scuttle any of his Political aspirations.
The political jobbers and bootlickers failed to realize that you can’t starve a man that is feeding in God’s promises. Like Joseph in the Bible, Nuhu Ribadu always Excell and have his ways amidst opposition, criticism, hatred, and all manner of black ails.
I know this, it’s also on record Nuhu Ribadu is a liberated and civilized Adamawa Man, a well-exposed leader who has no trace of religious bigotry. I can remember while I was among a committee as a member of the Christian graveyard in Yola North L.G.A between 2017/2018 under the Leadership of Rev. Erchem Sulei solicited for assistance from both Christians and Muslim philanthropists to have a borehole to be serving people whenever water needs arise at the burial ground, only Ribadu to my know singlehandedly sponsored the drilling of the only borehole in the Christian Cemetery as well as the Construction of the gate of the graveyard. His wide range of close associates in Yola, Abuja, even abroad are not Muslims including his domestic staff.
The one Man that I know his relationship with the likes of Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah, Pastor E A Adeboye and many senior clergymen in the country relate well to Brothers. He remains one of the few Muslim men that in many instances attended Christian functions in so many Churches both within and outside Adamawa state. Then tell me how can this same man be considered or seen as a religious zealot who hates other none Muslims. I can see it clear and loud because of politics the conscience of many have been bought over for a paltry of meals tickets to concoct and brew lies against an innocent man like Ribadu.
It will be child work to me to mentioned names of people none Fulani’s that Malam Nuhu has influenced their employment, appointment, and admission into a lot of offices and institutions across the country, this is also apart from the one he empowered or influence their empowerment.
During Nuhu’s service as the EFCC boss in Nigeria, Nuhu had many times tested and was found not guilty of bribery allegations despite all efforts by his Successor Farida Waziri to tarnish his image and destroy his personality. I challenge anybody to present any proof of the corruption of financial mismanagement or misappropriation against Malam Ribadu during and after his service as the EFCC BOSS IN NIGERIA. People of Nuhu’s financial integrity are very few. I remember one of the former GOVERNOR that corner Malam in private discussion and presented to him the sum of $15.000.000 as a bribe unknown that Nuhu as a professional police officer was vedio covering him. Malam Finally took the money to the central bank. How many of Nuhu’s accusers will resist such a temptation, for someone to say Nuhu was fraudulent during his tenure it’s just a cock and bull Story that can only be regarded and accepted by Nuhu’s perceived enemies.
I have heard and seen some EFCC leaders and Superior Police officers that were convicted by the court of law and detained after their services. If Nuhu was found wanting he would have been arrested because he is not above the law. A once more call open the image destroyers to present any proof of financial mismanagement label against Ribadu if they are not economical with the truth.
It is clearly said that, when you go to equity, you go with a clean hand, not a clean shirt. Some people live comfortably in a glasshouse and are busy throwing stones at the outsiders. Malam Nuhu is one among the few who received the highest award in the Northeast for selfless services, Integrity, good track records, and dedication to service.
Quite funny, it’s semi madness for someone to challenge this giant who changed the rhythm and the old song of corruption and labeled him a man to have run the most fraudulent EFCC office yet moving freely in every corner of our society blameless.
For me, Nuhu Ribadu is the only trusted Nigerian from the North East, a trustworthy Man in many parts of the country and the world. Some are buying trust occupying public office unduly while Nuhu earned his because of his track record.
