Less than 24 hours to the kidnap of the NULGE President Adamawa state chapter, the Police in the state has arrested four kidnappers and recover two locally made single barrel guns and cartridges.
The Adamawa state command Police spokesman DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje in a Press statement in Yola said the suspects confessed being among those terrorizing people of Mayo-Belwa, Jada, Ganye and Toungo axis.
He added that two locally fabricated single barrel guns, 20 cartridges, fake military uniforms, Charms among others were recovered from them.
“In an effort to rescue the kidnapped NULGE chairman, the Commissioner of police AUDU A MADAKI had deployed operatives to go after the kidnappers and ensure Victim is rescued unharmed and culprits apprehended.
Pursuit to that, the command apprehended one Sunday Innocent, 33 years, Buba Kaijo 37 years, Sanusi Shehu 20 years and Tercher Buwa 44 years along Kojoli in Jada LGA.
“The suspects are now assisting the police with useful information that will lead to the rescue of the kidnapped NULGE chairman and others.
The Commissioner of Police in the state then charged Area commanders across the state to ensure adequate supervision of personnel under their watch and ensure adequate security to lives and properties.
It could be recalled that in the earlier hours of Saturday armed gunmen stormed the residence of NULGE President in Mayo-Belwa town of Adamawa state Alhaji HammanJumba Gatugel and whisked him away.
As at the time of filling the report his whereabouts are still unknown
