…. urges State party officials to respect the rule of law

…says the party National chair filed the same ex parte motion

Despite the decision of the Adamawa State Working Committee (SWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to use the party’s constitution and guidelines to swear in Mr. Gentle Pharis as the substantive chairman of the party leadership of the Numan Local Government area.

The removed Party Chairman, Hon. Ndikashe Mariko convened a stakeholders meeting held at the party Secretariat in š‘µš’–š’Žš’‚š’ and urged the state party officials to respect the rule of law that backed him up to remain the party’s chairman.

This is coming following the unresolved crisis rocking the LGA chapter of the APC in Adamawa state, on Monday, 6th, May Ndikashe gathered all the Party stakeholders and insisted that SWC must respect the judgment ruling in his favor.

According to a supporter of Ndikashe factional leadership, Adizo Edison Kasuwa the meeting was meant to provide a comprehensive briefing and to conduct a thorough analysis effectively in addressing the challenges facing the leadership of the party in Numan local government that split into parallel lines.

He said Ndikashe briefed stakeholders at the party Secretariat in š‘µš’–š’Žš’‚š’ and made available a copy of a congratulatory letter signed by the state party chairman, Barr. Idris Shuaibu, dated 21st March “24, alongside a copy of the Court judgment affirming him as the substantive party chairman of APC of š‘µš’–š’Žš’‚š’.

“Since the inception of this legal battle, I have not been furnished with any official document by the State Working Committee regarding the alleged suspension or expulsion, nor have I received any letter of petition leveled against me from anyone.

“Nevertheless, I am now disclosing to you all the necessary legal documents that were served across our state Working Committee (SWC) up to the national leadership of the party which unequivocally exonerate me of all accusations”. He said.

Responding, Hon. š‘·š’‰š’‚š’š’–š’†š’ š‘“š’š’”š’–, a highly respected prominent politician, and a critical stakeholder in the region, therefore, expressed his disappointment regarding the SWC’s disregard for the court judgment that affirmed Hon. Ndikashe Mariko as the substantive party chairman”.

“In a similar scenario, our national chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, filed the same lawsuit for an ex parte motion to enforce his right to a fair hearing. And the court recognized him as the National Chairman of APC through an order, which the National Working Committee of the party (NWC) also complied”.

“Why is the situation with Ndikashe Mariko in Numan local government, appear to be different? It is imperative to examine the underlying factors contributing to this problem”.

“As a political party, we must respect the decision of the Court. Democracy is basically about the celebration of the rule of law, not the rule of might”.

“It has been brought to our attention that the state’s chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa state is currently grappling with a challenge stemming from selfishness that may destroy the party in the state”.

Hon. Muktari Yusuf, the Vice Chairman of the party in Numan, in his statement, emphasized the importance of complying with the court decision and warned that the actions of the SWC could have serious consequences on the bid for greater understanding if the current crisis is not resolved promptly.

Hon. Yusuf’s statement reflects a commitment to upholding the rule of law and preserving the integrity of the party’s activities across the state even in the face of difficult circumstances.

Loyalist of Ndikashe factional leadership, Edison said the development is coming after Party leadership under Mr. Gentle Pharis insisted on parading himself as the APC chairman, of Numan Local Government despite the court order restraining him.
