A group of youths from the Numan Federation, comprising five local government areas (Numan, Lamurde, Demsa, Guyuk, and Shelleng), has called on Prof Maxwell Gidado, Chairman of the Governing Council of Adamawa State University, Mubi, to contest the Adamawa Southern Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.
In a press statement released by Comrade Ishaya Samuel, Coordinator of the Numan Federation Group for Prof Gidado 2027, the youths cited Prof Gidado’s experience, positive exposure, and love for humanity as reasons for their endorsement.
The group resolved to send a delegation to persuade Prof Gidado to accept their request, citing the need to produce the next Governor from Numan Federation
They expressed confidence that with Prof Gidado as Senator, the Southern Zone can compete with any Senatorial Zone in the country and attract the needed federal presence, which the Zone has lacked compared to other Zones in the State.
The group resolved to send a delegation to persuade Prof Gidado to accept their request, citing the need to produce the next Governor from Numan Federation as another reason for supporting the experienced Professor from the Ganye Chiefdom zone, to balance the political office spread.
This endorsement is seen as a significant development in the political landscape of Adamawa State, as the youths’ support for Prof Gidado could potentially influence the outcome of the 2027 senatorial elections.
