A teacher in Jimeta, Yola North Local Government area of Adamawa State who begged to be anonymous raised an alarm that the State election of the Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) which is by the corner is greeted by tension and vested interest by a contestant.
Our sources said Faisal Mohammed who is a Frontline contestant has been threatening members with his campaign Strategy of “I’m the next Chairman wether you vote for me or not because I’m being endorsed by Auwal Tukur, the SSG.”
The Man who does not want his name in print for fear of victimization said Faisal through out his campaign in the 21 local government area of the state warned both the Local Chairmen government of the Union and Education secretaries.
“He is intimidating us that he is the Government Candidate and Hon Barr Auwal Tukur, the secretary to the State Government (SSG) has endorsed him and any other candidate is just wasting his time.” He said
He worried that Faisal has already sold the union to the government that be and his leadership will not benefit anyone because he has shown that his loyalty will always be with those that imposed him them.
He called on all members in the twenty one local government areas to vote for comrade Captain Jiddauna whose experience supers Faisals’
He praised Jiddauna as a true unionist that will struggle for the collective interest of all members and paid his due over the years haven hold the Branch Chairman of Guyuk for 8 years, he was a former NLC chairman Guyuk chapter for 8 years, and hold the position of NUT Adamawa state wing of ALGON for 4 years as Chairman.
He further said Jiddauna is the excellent Man that all the comrades should rally round not Faisal because of his human relations and human capacity structure ability to build the union to the desire of all members.
According to him, currently Jiddauna is the Publicity Secretary of the Adamawa NUT and his aspirantion of the office of the state Chairman is best for now.
Adding his voice to what’s seemingly becoming an imposition to the Adamawa NUT, a public affairs analysts, Comrade Vandi L Barnabas Said any serious member of the NUT should not vote for Faisal because he has already mortgaged the union to some politicians.
Vandi said a vote for Faisal is a destructive weapon that will kill anyone in NUT, automatic kill the union as such he is not worthy for the noble assignment.
He said Faisal is a defeatist for him to be dragging the name of Auwal Tukur as his back bone and sole financier of his political campaign.
He called on all Teachers to show him that their power to vote for the leader they want is not in Auwal, it’s in the ability unite for a common goal in electing a Chairman of their choice. He gave them a nugged of true as a unionist to elect a leader other than Faisal because Faisal can not defend them in a single way.
Honorable Auwal Tukur however when contacted denied his involvement from all the allegations, he described it a child’s play and laughable to stoop low for a course that is not in tandem with and what is doing or going.
Faisal in many instances and forum also denied any link to Auwal and maintain his posture of winning the election for the good of all union members.
He told this medium that he has worked through the 21 local government areas with a mission of repositioning the union for all members not to be a weak leader to the detriment of all.
He challenged the Jiddauna faction to go for campaign like him to canvass for votes not to sit down at home ranting over what is not existing.
He vowed that his supporters in Yola North, Yola South of the Central senatorial district are many, his Northern Senatorial District supporters and Southern Senatorial District supporters are just waiting for the D day that he will be elected as their leader of immense capacity.
According to him Jiddauna is only bragging for his Guyuk Local Government area members who are also his favorites and are just waiting for the right time to show up for him.
He totally disassociated himself of having link with Auwal Tukur and believe that Auwal will never give him what God has not intended.
