The Adamawa State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) Comrade Rodney Nathan commended the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Umaru Jibrila Bindow of the state to be a progressive and “tremendously excellent one”
Rodney who specifically talked on issues that concerns NUT, states that 2017 was full of challenges for teachers who were owing the government five months salaries but now are only having an outstanding salary of one month of 2016 match still hanging.
Comrade Nathan opined that seven thousands of teachers in 2017 were declared ghost workers but the government cleared over six thousands of them with only less than a hundred of them left uncleared.
According to him last year was also a year that they have agitated for 27.5% allowances ,all things being equal as most of the teachers in the state have started enjoying the special salaries allowances with measures in place for others to start getting it.
He hopes that 2018 is going to be more better in seeing problems of Salary pending, yearly and promotion increment being properly taken care of.
He call on all the teachers in the state to reciprocate the gesture by hard worker in order to turn the state into a model of education achievements.
“Is only education can grow a state into an enviable state.” He said
