In a significant development, a High Court sitting in Yola, presided by Justice Hapsat Abdurrahman, has accepted a report from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as evidence in the ongoing lawsuit between the state and Rabiu Sheriff.
The report reveals that Sebore Farms Limited and Sebore Farms Export Process Zone were not duly registered by the CAC.

The lawsuit, filed in 2021, alleges that Sheriff converted two landed properties worth N80 million, purchased in the name of Sebore Farms, to himself and sold them at a later date. Sheriff, a former CSO to Governor Nyako, presented additional evidence against Nyako, including bank statements and proof of payment to the vendor of the disputed properties.
The defendant’s lead counsel, Barr Roland Emem, requested the court to reopen Sheriff’s examination to present more evidence that the two companies claimed to be forged by Sheriff are not registered with the CAC. Sheriff disclosed that his previous lawyer was forced to abandon the case due to threats, and he was taken to court without legal representation.
