NYSC DG Visits Fintiri, Applauds N20,000 Stipend, Pledges Corps Members’ Support

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, paid a courtesy visit to the Adamawa State Governor, His Excellency Rt. Hon Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, to express his gratitude for the Governor’s support towards the national youth service scheme in the state.

The visit, which took place on February 10, 2025, was a gesture of appreciation for the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of corps members, including the augmentation of their feeding during their stay in camp and the proposed fencing and renovation of the orientation camp in Damare, Adamawa state.

General Ahmed also commended the Governor’s decision to increase the monthly allowance of corp members serving in Adamawa from ₦10,000 to ₦20,000, a move that will undoubtedly improve the lives of the corps members. The NYSC DG assured the Governor of the scheme’s readiness to support the government of Adamawa state, with the visit aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Adamawa State Government and the National Youth Service Scheme.

The visit was also attended by other top officials, including the acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mrs. Caroline W. Embu, and the NYSC state coordinator, Mr. Ateli Samson. Additionally, the NYSC DG met with the Brigade Commander of the 23 Armour Brigade headquarters in Yola, Brigadier General PK Zawaya, to cement their existing cordial working relationship, demonstrating the NYSC’s efforts to foster positive relationships with state governments and ensure the well-being of corps members.
