The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in Adamawa targeted about 1,200 rural dwellers for free medical treatment in Ribadu Community, Fufore and Koh Community in Fufore and Girei Local Government respectively.
Speaking during the flagg-off of the phase II 2021 Health Initiative for Rural Dweller in Ribadu on Monday, NYSC Adamawa Coordinator, Malam Ibrahim Tukur called on the benefiting communities to take advantage of the programme.
According to him, during the first phase of the programme over 600 rural dwellers benefited from the free medical out reach in Bole and Bode Communities.
Tukur further commended all the stakeholders for their contributions towards the success of the programme in the state.
“The initiative underscores the readiness of the NYSC scheme to mobilize the numerous corps medical doctors, pharmacists, nurses, lab scientists, physiotherapist and other corps medical personnel at its disposal for the benefit of their host communities”, he said.
In his address, Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri commended the NYSC for initiating such free medical outreach targeting people in the grassroots.
Fintiri who was represented by his Commissioner Ministry of Youth, Mr Aloysius Babadoke, said the initiative are inline with 11 points agenda of his administration.
He urged the people in the benefiting communities patronize the services for their good health.
Fintiri also Commended the Corps Doctors for their selfless service and charged them to continue.
Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, Senior Districts Head of Ribadu lauded the initiative and assured for their full support and cooperation for the success of the programme.
Aliyu, who was represented by Alhaji Yaya Buba, Waziri of Ribadu said that the programme has came at the right time because their patients who supposed to go for hospital they find it easy to be attended free of charge.
