The 10th Convocation lecture of the Afe Babalola University ( ABUAD), Ado Ekiti where Dr Mike Ozekhome, SAN, CON, OFR, FCIArb, LL.M, Ph.D, LL.D, D.LITT, was to deliver a lecture turned to a a birthday celebration in his honor.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, other prominent Nigerians during the convocation lectures that Mike extensively talked on on “THE PLACE OF EDUCATION IN A CRISIS-RIDDEN NIGERIA was ended up with a birthday bash in honor of the legal luminary.
Mike was highly applauded with his well researched 83 pages lecture notes and after the Convocation, the founder and Chancellor of ABUAD,Aare Afe Babalola,SAN,CON,OFR,LL.D, surprised Dr Mike Ozekhome,his wife, lady ( Barr) Josephine, his sons, Barr Oshomha and Osilama, and the mammoth crowd of friends, well wishers,students, staff of ABUAD and traditional rulers present, with a well decorated birthday cake.
Chief Olusegun Obasanjo led the supervision of cutting of the cake and rendition of songs, eulogies were said to celebrate Mike for his many contribution to development of humanity during the convocation.
An Adamawa based Lawyer, Barrister Gabriel Adikwu also told this medium that because of the many great contributions Ozekhome is giving in the legal system of Nigeria, he will be tomorrow awarded with the LL.D Doctorate degree (HC).
According to him Mike alongside the former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Segun Oni and the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Garba Elkanemi will be decorated with the Doctorate awards.
