Adamawa state Police command will clamp down on any Keke Napep rider that participated in a planned two days strike commencing from tomorrow Monday by members of Keke Napep in the state.
The alledge plan strike followed a dateline issued to the Keke Napep riders to obtain drivers license on or before the end of July, 2019.
In a press statement issued by the Adamawa State Police spokesman DSP Suleiman Yahya Nguroje said the Executive members of National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association Adamawa State chapter has distance itself from the plan strike.
The statement read in part “that the executive members of National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association Adamawa State, brought to its notice that some miscreants are trying to instigate it’s members to embark on strike/protest just to cause unnecessary hardship to members of the public”.
The statement therefore warned members of the Keke Napep riders to go about their normal businesses and desist from any act that may likely cause break down of law and order.
In a Telephone interview, the chairman National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association Adamawa State chapter Alh Hussaini Isa said “we are not part of the strike and will not participate, we just saw notice of the strike being pasted on the Keke Napep and the source of notice is yet to be known”.
“We have already informed security agencies on the development, and even made announcement on Radio distancing ourselves from the strike”. He added
Isa called on the members of the Association not to be deceived as registration of drivers license for Keke Napep is a nation wide exercise and always consult the leadership of the Association for clarification on any issues.
