Ondo Reps Candidate, Ogundare quits SDP, joins APC

The candidate for Owo/Ose Federal Constituency in the just concluded 2023 general election, Ogundare Gabriel Oluwaseyi, on Friday, dumped the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Ogundare whose pseudonym is OGO, said joining the ruling party was a decision borne out of the dire need to join hands with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to build the Sunshine State to an enviable.

The former SDP chieftain stated this while formally declaring for the APC at the party’s state secretariat in Akure, the Ondo State Capital.

He said, “it’s time to join the ruling party to build the state to an enviable height. My decision to join the APC became imperative after due consultation with my followers.

“After extensive consultation and thorough consideration with Constituents, political allies, stakeholders, and supporters, I have resigned my membership from the Social Democratic party (SDP), and I wish to align with the principles, vision, and transformative agenda of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

“Throughout my political career, I have consistently advocated for the development and betterment of my constituents and the welfare of my people. I will continue to uphold my exemplary leadership, integrity, and dedication to the service of the people and also abide by the principles of the All Progressive Congress (APC) that offers the most effective platform for implementing the progressive policies needed to drive the country forward.

“As I embark on this new chapter, I invite all my supporters, political allies, and my political groups to join me on this new political path as we will foster dialogue, unity, and progress within the All Progressive Congress.

“Indeed, the moment signifies a significant shift in the political landscape and marks a new chapter in my political sojourn. I thank the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC), especially the party Chairman in Ondo state, Hon. Ade Adetimehin, for the welcoming hands.

“The official defection rally will be done today, 16th of June, 2023 by noon at the All Progressive Congress (APC) State Party Secretariat, In Akure the State capital.

“I will continue to work tirelessly to eradicate critical issues facing my community and the state, and I will never cease demonstrating an unwavering commitment to promoting justice, equality, and development.
