Walter Onnoghen, suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) has opened his defence at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
This is following the dismissal of a no-case submission filed by the representatives of the embattled CJN at the CCT.
Danladi Umar, CCT chairman, said the allegations against the Justice are heavy and they warrant that he opens his defence.

The suspended chief justice is standing trial for a six-count charge bordering on false assets declaration.
Adeboyega Awomolo, Onnoghen’s lead counsel at the hearing, has called on the suspended CJN’s driver, named Olanrewaju to come to the witness box to testify.
