As Nigeria looks ahead to the 2027 general elections, the need for visionary, proven, and unifying leadership has never been greater.
In our democratic journey, one of the most effective leadership combinations was that of President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and his Vice President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan. Both were former governors who made significant impacts in their respective states Yar’Adua in Katsina with principled governance, and Jonathan in Bayelsa through economic revitalization.

Their success at the federal level was rooted in their track records at the state level, a model I believe we should revisit.
In my personal view, a ticket featuring Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State and Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State represents one of the most promising leadership combinations for 2027.
His leadership in the North-East has been marked by transparency, peace building, and practical development
Governor Fintiri has consistently demonstrated bold, inclusive governance, transforming education, improving infrastructure, and investing heavily in agriculture. His leadership in the North-East has been marked by transparency, peace building, and practical development.
Governor Mbah, meanwhile, is redefining governance in the {South-East}. From his aggressive infrastructure renewal to his digital innovation drive and public private partnerships (PPP), Enugu is quickly becoming a model for modern, tech-enabled governance.

Together, they embody a powerful blend of northern and southeastern strengths, reform-minded leadership, and shared commitment to national unity and development.
Of course, this is just my opinion but it’s one informed by performance, not politics. Nigeria deserves leaders who deliver, not just promise.
Let’s start thinking ahead. Let’s start thinking performance. Let’s start thinking Fintiri and Mbah.
