The organisation in Yola, Adamawa state capital under the umbrella of “Operation Hana Mata Siyasan Maula ya Zama dole” aimed at campaigning against women becoming political thugs, moving from one office to other, ministry to ministry and from one state to another state praise-singing for politicians in order to get money.
In a statement signed by the President, Hajiya Larai Marwa said it’s a high time for women to realise their worth and potentials as homemakers whose virtues are for building societies and entrenching moral values to the young ones.
According to the statement that women have relegated themselves to the point that some of them especially women politicians are always found moving around ministries, streets and market places seeking for one favour or the other.
“It will surprise you that some women politicians travel all the way from other states like Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Maiduguri, Sokoto etc to tarnish the image of women folks especially those from the Northern part of the country by becoming beggars unduly.
” This organization is aimed at bringing awareness to women in politics both young and old because women are very important to the family, community and society at large. Therefore this attitude must come to an end.” The statement read
The organization which is under the umbrella body of multi-purpose cooperative society, body for all female politicians in Adamawa state will collaborate with the state government in ensuring the success of the program.
The group set plans in motion to mobilized, sensitized and educate women realised the danger of becoming political beggars as ravaging and damaging the pride, dignity and honour of all women in the state and the country at large
