The Adamawa State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has denied joining its former Governorship Candidate, Emmanuel Bello, in his recent decampment to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Arising from an emergency State Executive Committee meeting of the party, the chairman of the party, Abubakar Yusuf, told journalists that no member of the party was defected along with Mr. Bello.
“Our party is intact, Emmanuel Bello, defected alone, and it is right to join any political party he wishes to join.
“Let it be known to those who may care to know, Mr. Bello has been on suspension before his defection.
“As much as we know, he joined our party alone and be left alone”, he said.
Also commenting, the Organizing Secretary of the party, Aziz Jibrilla, “while Emmanuel Bello, has left our party we are happy to announce that KOWA party has collapsed its structure into our party.
“I’m sure you know that KOWA party’s National chairman, Saidu Bobboi, announced that the entire party was collapsing into the SDP”, he said.
A loyalist of Chief Emmanuel Bello, Sunday Joseph responded to the decision of the State Chairman to our Correspondent that SDP in Adamawa are now in the state of comatose as a result of Bello’s defection.
He said Emmanuel’s defection has brought the good tidings to the people of Adamawa, especially the APC party as over fifty thousand people who are his supporters are set for their party revalidation and registration.
Sunday intimated our reporter that the North East, and Adamawa APC have seen the worth of their gubernatorial candidate whose political weight is valued and cherished.
He revealed that an ongoing meeting of the APC stakeholders in the North East has invited Bello to be in attendance knowing full well that is a strong political pillar to reckon with.
” Let me tell you that they are lying and not being fair to Emma as one among the thousands people we have set up to follow him wherever he goes.
“Emma was the one that brought life to SDP in 2019, the party is a dead one in the state it was his presence that made it what it is.
” Well let me reiterate that our leader has left them and gone for good, besides defection is a personal issue to any politician to decide, he decided to go alone and we answer his call to also follow him wherever he goes.
“Just be at a watch when our Boss (Emma) will be formally accepted in Yola by APC it is then you will know that the owner of the party has left with the glory of the party.
” This so called party officials we are much aware have been bought over by the PDP in the state. The real SDP loyalists you will see them during his formal acceptance.” Joseph said.
