The defectors, who are from Maiha Local Government Areas of the state to include a former Senior Special Adviser to immediate Council Boss of Maiha LG and former Chairman of NNPP Maiha, LGA Hon Abdulganiyu Nuhu Pakka have all defected to APC in show of loyalty to Senator Elisha Ishaku Abbo.

This is coming barely after the Youths of Maiha LGA declared their support to the Senator representing Adamawa Northern Senatorial District, Sen. Ishaku Abbo for his second term bit in the coming 2023 general elections.

Nuhu, who spoke on behalf of the defectors said they have dumped the NNPP over leadership failure by the party leaders and some candidates of the Party.

He further said that the NNPP in the state lacks administrative principles and policies of uniting the party members, and candidates that would usher in democratic strategist that will lead the party to the victory comes 2023.

In his remarks after receiving the decampees, the Senator who was represented by Hon Abubakar Mai Yaki, lamented that Maiha Local Government is a border town with Nigeria and Cameroon Republic, which used to be the economy hub of Adamawa state has been crippled due to what he termed as bad leadership by the ruling party, PDP.

“When we come back to power in 2023 by His grace, we will ensure that Maiha returns to its past glory as the window of economic activities in the entire country by restoring the security and economy of our state in our first 100 days in office.”He said

Maiha APC Chairman, Hon. Isa Musa, represented by Alhaji Musa Councillor, said: “We received over 50 NNPP members today (Thursday) into our great party the APC. The defectors are from Maiha Local Government Areas alone.”

The APC chairman while welcoming the defectors, assured them of justice and fair play that the “party is known for over the years”, alleging that the PDP and NNPP are buried in the state.

He urged them to work hard with APC supporters for the success of the party in the forthcoming general election 2023.
