Catholic Church on Friday conducted a funeral mass for victims of St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, who were attacked and massacred by gunmen believed to be terrorists.
It was a solemn day in Owo, a twin in Ondo State as the victims were laid to rest after the mass.
The remains of about 40 of the victims of the recent attack were deposited at the morgue of the Saint Louis Catholic Hospital in Owo.
After the Friday mass was completed at the Mydas Event Centre in Owo, families of the victims took the remains of their loved ones for burial in the town.
Among dignitaries present at the mass include the state Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, and a former governor of the state, Olusegun Mimiko.
Clergymen, including Bishop Jude Arogundade of Ondo Catholic Diocese, and Bishop Matthew Kukah of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto, were in attendance too.
