Palliatives, good governance: How education minister pelts two birds with one stone

In the history of federal cabinet appointment in Adamawa State, Professor Tahir Mamman is setting a record of performance, excellence and kind spiritedness never seen before.

Since his appointment as the minister of education, he has championed a number of interventions from the ministry to Adamawa State being one of the educationally disadvantaged states.

But apart from the solid imprints, policies, reforms and roadmaps he brought on board to rejuvenate the ailing sector and put it on the road to prosperity, the professor of law is traversing a new path never followed by his predecessors.

Apart from the national and global platitudes the minister has garnered on the alter of his critical and far reaching reforms which made the president himself to personally acknowledge the remarkable fits of excellence in the ministry of education, Adamawa State citizens are also expressing joy and happiness for the direct intervention of the minister in the area of availing the citizens with succor through large scale food distribution.

Professor Tahir Mamman, a man with vast network of local and international connection is really utilizing his vantage position and connections well in order to enhance the well being of the citizens to the admiration of all stakeholders who showered encomiums and praises on the minister for his gangling and phenomenal interventions.

In his desire to ease the hardship which the citizens are going through as a result of the spiralling inflation, the minister has distributed assorted food items including rice, spaghetti and vegetable oil across the 4,404 polling units of the state. Such massive intervention has been acknowledged as the first of its kind by any serving federal cabinet member from Adamawa State.

In addition, all the APC exco across the 226 wards, 21 local governments of the state as well as the state exco also benefitted tremendously from the minister’s intervention.

Professor Tahir Mamman also extended the gesture to all other critical stakeholders of the party. He also ensured the traditional leaders are also included because of the burden of the people they shoulder.

With the coming of professor Tahir Mamman, Adamawa State is on the cusps of history as attested by many stakeholders who testified that in juxtaposition of what transpired in the last eight years where there was a palpable lackluster attitude of the then minister to touch lives and livelihoods, Adamawa State is in a golden era exemplified by compassionate and people centric leadership.

Some of the stakeholders opined that the coming of professor Tahir Mamman has ushered in landmark and phenomenal changes because of his deep concern for the welfare of the stakeholders which is the most important asset of the party. They noted that since his coming, the professor has shown a solid determination to redirect and channel a lot of energy towards enhancing the human capital of the party and affect lives in many purposeful ways unlike the past when stakeholders were turned to orphans due to dearth of compassionate and spirited leadership.

It is also on record that in the build up to the Christmas and New Year of last year, the minister has extended similar gestures to the people of the stakeholders in order to celebrate hitch free Christmas and New Year. The only difference is that there is a marked difference in the quantum of items and coverage of the exercise between last December and now. And going by the minster’s determination, the people should brace up for the mother of all palliatives come December 2024.
