The Executive Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Mohammadu Umaru Jibrila Bindow urged state’s workers of the Local Government councils to show commitment to work.
Bindow made the call at the occasion of the disbursement of Housing Renovation Loans by Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria to civil servants of Adamawa in Yola.
The governor regretted that local government workers had not been contributing to the wealth creation in the state.
He urged them to decist from the practice of absconding to work and appearing only during payments of salaries.
He announced that the the staff of the 21 local government areas would received their three months salary arreas from the Paris club refunds with their December salary.
He also said that the staff of the Adamawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency would be paid their two months salary arrears including their December salaries.
The governor said that the staff of the State Primary Board would receive their one month salary arrears including their December salaries.
He urged all the workers to display their commitment to duty as the administration was committed to improve the welfare of the workers in the state.
Bindow, while commending President Muhammadu Buhari for releasing Paris club funds to states, appealed to civil servants to pray for the president to continue with his good works.
According to him, I have directed the commissioners for Local government and Chieftancy Affairs and Finance to commence payments immediately.
Earlier, Alhaji Dauda Maina, Chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress in Adamawa commended the governor for being labour friendly.
Maina assured the governor of workers support to his administration.
He urged the workers in the state to improve on service delivery.
You can also recalls that Adamawa had received N6.1 billion as part of its last trench of the Paris club refunds.
