Okerafor Athanatius, Jalingo.
A Chieftain of the Taraba State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate for 2023 elections in the State, Alh. Iliyasu Kirim has stated that the emergence of Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the Governorship Candidate of APC is divinely targeted at changing the narratives of the people of the State.
Alh. Kirim made the assertion in Jalingo while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after arrival from Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
He said, with Senator Bwacha, APC chances of winning the Governorship election in the State come 2023 is very bright.
He described Senator Bwacha as an astute and experienced Politician who according to him, operates an open door policy and carries everybody along.
Alh. Iliyasu Kirim further disclosed that the wranglings that existed during Party primaries are intra-Party problems which explained that Party Stalwarts and Chieftains have resolved and did not allow it to escalate.
“Such cases are being carefully managed so as not to escalate”,
“I want to tell you that we are working on the psychology of the people of the State, and apart from that I think the Bwacha Campaign for 2023 elections is a divine Project”, he said.
On what he meant by changing the narratives, the Deputy Governorship hopeful said,
“The truth of the matter is that Taraba needs panel beating, total overhauling and I believe that the people have come of age. We will not continue to toll the part of dogmatism where may be Religious Leaders or Community leaders will pin people to their opinion.
“People have now regained consciousness as what is good for them and they need a change and I think APC is the only option”,
“My Advice to APC Aspirants who lost the Governorship Primary election is, “Let us put our hands on deck”, in any Contest, there must be winners and losers. What is left with us is to brace the spirit of sportsmanship”,
“We will concentrate on trying to give every Taraban a level playing ground so that at the end of the day, APC will be a Political Party to reckon with in Taraba”,
“Peace, the Panacea for any development is our priority”, he added.
