The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vehemently rejected the recent increase in fuel price to over N1,000 per liter, describing it as a “brutal assault” on Nigerians by the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration.
In a press statement, the PDP said the increase is a “huge recipe for crisis” and will worsen the economic hardship faced by Nigerians. The party accused the APC administration of being “anti-people, unconcerned, and deaf” to the suffering of millions of Nigerians.
The PDP also criticized the government’s management of the petroleum sector, calling it “secretive and corrupt.” The party noted that over 150 million Nigerians have sunk below the poverty line, businesses are collapsing, and the Naira is exchanging at over N1,600 to a Dollar.

Signed by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary, the statement concluded that the APC government has “abdicated the primary purpose of government” and is now an “enabler of corrupt rent-seekers” who benefit from the increase in fuel price.
