The crisis rocking the Zamfara state Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party PDP has taken a turn for the worse with the emergence of a new faction by aggrieved members called the “True PDP”.
Leader of the new faction, Alhaji Bilyaminu Aliyu Badarawa who disclosed this at a press briefing in Gusau, the state capital said that the action had become necessary to salvage the party before it is too late.
Badarawa noted that the other faction under the leadership of Alhaji Tukur Danfulani has demonstrated proven incompetence that is capable of sinking the party to the deep sea of irrelevance.
“Following some irregularities observed in our beloved party (Peoples Democratic Party PDP) in Zamfara State, we the true and genuine members of the party have decided to form faction, named “True PDP” under the auspices of BILYAMINU ALIYU BADARAWA and his state Exco, local governments, 147 wards Executives and 2516 Polling Units Representatives.
“It became imperative to form the “True PDP” to salvage the peoples Democratic Party in Zamfara State from sinking and deterioration under its factional Chairman ALH. TUKUR DANFULANI, more especially considering the way and manner the party is being handled in an incapacitated manner.
“The PDP leadership in Zamfara State is not respecting opinions from its members, elders and other patrons of the party which led it to losing its glory in the state beside selective justice and “I don’t care attitude” for the flight of its members”.
The True PDP Chairman also noted that the faction was disappointed at the decision of the Danfulani led PDP to suspend the Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Alhaji Faruku Umar Shattiman Rijiya, for expressing his opinion aimed at moving the party forward.
He alleged that the PDP Chairman in Zamfara Alh.Tukur Danfulani has no time for the party affairs as he is always engaged at the Governorment house Gusau instead of him to be in his office at the PDP Secretariat thus abandoning statutory meetings with the party stakeholders at the detriment of the party and its supporters in the state.
“Due to the aforementioned, we resolved to form the new faction named “True PDP” to salvage the PDP and rescue it from collapsing. That as from today 30th April, 2021. I as the state Coordinator, PDP Grassroots mobilization Zamfara State and new Chairman, True PDP Zamfara we expelled Alh. Tukur Danfulani and his entire Excos.
“That as from today all correspondences, dealings and all other official engagements of PDP in Zamfara State should be addressed to me or be contacted in that regard. A letter of Complaint and Notification of the formation of the true PDP has already been communicated to the Northwest zonal office and the National party chairman”. Alhaji Badarawa concluded.
