Activist Deji Adeyanju has described the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a cursed party, accusing the party of scheming popular singer Olubankole Wellington, aka Banky W, from emerging as its flag bearer for the Eti-Osa federal constituency, Lagos State.
The party had earlier declared Banky W as the winner of its House of Representatives primary for the constituency.
But, following the reversal of the announcement on Thursday, the convener of Concerned Nigerians, tweeted on his verified Twitter handle, “PDP is cursed. Banky W didn’t get the ticket according to their latest evil scheme, all they care about is dollars…Kai, I’m sincerely tired of this country. We are in a serious mess. The generation of our children are in trouble.”
Reacting to the tweet by Deji, popular Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie wrote, “My brother, politics in Nigeria is all about money. 90% of the political parties are set up to make money. They don’t care about the state of the country. That’s why APC sold form for 100m. When I ran for Governor in 2017 my party people nearly fought me ‘cos’ I wasn’t sharing money.”
Meanwhile, supporters and some Nigerians have been asking Banky W to purchase an interest form from another political party.
