The National Vice Chairmanship position was keenly contested between Hon. Stephen Abraham Ajiya and Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed Takushara.

Announcing the results, the Chairman of the electoral committee, Hon. Tanimu Turaki, declared Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed Takushara the winner with 526 votes, while Hon. Stephen Ajiya scored 18 votes.

Importantly, it has also helped to further unite the party. “You can see it yourself—this is the North Central zone of Nigeria, and representatives from across the region are here. They’ve come, they’ve experienced the serenity of our state, and they are happy to be in Plateau, the heartbeat of PDP.”

Hon. Christopher wished the winners well and said, “Remember, politics is about inclusivity. Carry those who didn’t win along. Bring them closer. Work together. That’s the only way to build a strong and united party.” To those who lost, he said, “Be patient.

That’s the nature of democracy—when there is a contest, not everyone can win. Your time will come. Let’s all stay committed to the progress of our party. Our hope is to reconcile, to put our differences behind us, and to move forward—united and strong. And by the grace of God, we will be there.”
