The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Wednesday intensified its grassroots mobilization campaign ahead of the June 13, 2026 Local Government Council Elections, holding massive rallies in Maiha and Hong Local Government Areas of Adamawa State.

The campaign train was led by the party’s governorship candidate, Chief Maurice Vunobolki, alongside the Adamawa State PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, Engr. Belmond Dogo, and other senior party officials.
Addressing supporters, stakeholders, and residents during the rally in Maiha, Vunobolki described himself as “a son of Maiha” and expressed gratitude for the warm reception accorded to the delegation. He offered prayers for the people and urged voters to support the PDP chairmanship candidate, Hon. Tijjani Maksha, as well as all councillorship candidates of the party in the forthcoming election.
Speaking at the event, Dogo formally presented the PDP flag to Maksha, affirming the party’s endorsement of his candidacy. He called on residents to vote for PDP candidates at all levels, emphasizing the party’s commitment to grassroots development and inclusive governance.
The rally attracted a large turnout of supporters, reflecting heightened political engagement ahead of the polls.
As part of the visit, the campaign team paid a courtesy call on the Emir of Maiha, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ahmadu Saibaru Sanda, at his palace. The monarch expressed appreciation for the visit, offered prayers for the delegation, and wished them success in their political activities.
The campaign train later proceeded to Hong Local Government Area, where a large crowd of supporters gathered to welcome the delegation.
Addressing the gathering, Vunobolki apologized for the delayed arrival and extended goodwill messages to the people of Hong. He introduced the PDP chairmanship candidate for the area, Hon. Dr. Aliyu Yerima, and appealed to voters to support him and all PDP councillorship candidates during the election.
Vunobolki also highlighted some of his contributions to the area, including the construction of a sports complex, which he said demonstrates his commitment to the development of Hong and the welfare of its residents.
The PDP flag was subsequently presented to Yerima by the state caretaker committee chairman as a symbol of the party’s official endorsement.
The event concluded with the singing of the national anthem, marking the end of another phase of the PDP’s statewide campaign ahead of the June 13 local government elections.
