A young and visionary Journalist,Percy Dabang,basing in Adamawa and connects to other parts of North East Nigeria with his humanitarian style of Journalism.
Of recent Young Percy angled a story on a fustrated Shila Boys group who are knowm with heneous activities of attacking people,especially women using all form of dangerous weapons on tricycles (Keke Napep).
On the attacked of one Jafar Mohammed whose hand was chopped off by the terror group attracted Young Percy to succintly gives the narratives as it happened from Jafar,the central actor.
His report is no doubt one of the best and unique haven attrated the attention of federal government as the vice President Yemi Osibanjo Visited Jafar to commiserate with him.
Percy on his response said:
“it gladdens my heart to see that a story I did has such impact of not only getting the attention of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo but also a visit to my central character, Jafar Muhammed.
In July this year, in my usual style of journalism, I did a story on how Jafar lost his limb in an attack by a criminal gang in Yola, Shila Boys, and how the North-East Humanitarian Innovation Hub made a prosthetic limb for Jafar to support his day-to-day activities.
The story went virile and was used by reputable international media organizations like TRT World, France 24, Africa News among many others.
I’m humbled to see that my work is getting such attention. This is not to say I have arrived, but still learning the ropes.
