Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, says the persecution of the Igbo people in Nigeria stops with him.

He said the trend can’t continue, stressing it’s the reason he’s campaigning for Igbo freedom.

The IPOB leader stated this on Tuesday at the resumed hearing of his trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja.

“This Persecution of the Igbo people in Nigeria, this almost global orchestrated persecution of Igbo people stops with me. It can never happen. I am campaigning for the freedom of my people, as simple as that,” he said.

Justice Binta Nyako said she’s going to recuse herself from Kanu’s trial.

The judge withdrew from the case after Kanu stated that he had lost confidence in the court and that the trial judge should recuse herself from his trial.
