The Obidient Movement has categorically dismissed a media report alleging that its principal, Peter Obi, was offered the vice-presidential slot to run alongside Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in a new political coalition ahead of the 2027 elections. The movement described the publication as “imaginary” and urged the public to disregard it to avoid misconceptions.
In a statement issued on Monday, Nana Kazaure, Director of Strategic Communication & Media for the Obidient Movement, clarified that while discussions with partners and stakeholders for a coalition are ongoing and cordial, no such offer exists.
“There is no truth or basis to the reports whatsoever,” Kazaure emphasized.
The statement reaffirmed Peter Obi’s commitment to forming a coalition focused on addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges, including bad governance, corruption, hunger, poverty, inadequate healthcare, and the crisis of out-of-school children.

The movement also confirmed that Obi remains a member of the Labour Party, and any change in his political affiliation would be announced by him directly. It cautioned against sensationalism and speculation, urging Nigerians and the media to focus on contributing to a better nation during these challenging times.
The Obidient Movement’s swift response underscores its commitment to transparency and its determination to keep supporters and the public informed amid swirling political rumors.
