Mr Abdullahi Ismaila, Executive Chairman Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB) has called on education stakeholders to ensure peace and understanding for the development of education in the state.
The chairman made the call while briefing newsmen in Yola following a petition against Education secretary Girei Local Government Area, Mohammed Baba Tela on corruption, unprofessionalism, staff intimidation and sabotage to free education by Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri Administration.
He said that he was yet to officially received a copy of the petition, but he was able to get it from someone and he immediately set up three-man committee for investigation into the allegations.
According to him, for long time he have done everything possible for overall objective of education development by touring 21 LGAs in the state.
He added that the visit was successful in 20 LGA except in Girei because of their difficulty to understand and for the second visit they apologize, promise things will be normal.
“The next thing to here is the issue of the petition and when the committee went for investigation everyone is distancing from the petition.
“After receiving the committee’s reports I call for management meeting and we discussed on the way forward”, he said.
According to him, the petition is baseless because nobody serve him neither own it and the committee did not find him guilty on the allegations.
He further said that Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), school supervisors and committee of elders from the local council have condemned the petition.
