Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has been arraigned at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Maitama, Abuja, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The arraignment comes after Bello’s arrest on Tuesday over alleged misappropriation of funds estimated at about N80 billion.
The EFCC had declared Bello wanted in April after failed attempts to secure his arrest.
The former governor’s arraignment was initially scheduled for an earlier date, but he repeatedly ignored court summons, prompting the EFCC to file fresh charges at the FCT High Court in September.
