Physicians’ week: Bell Dome Hospital Consult renders free medical services to Adamawa community

….Over 400 people screened over common ailments

In other to commemorate the ongoing Physicians’ week in Adamawa state, a newly established five-star private Hospital in Yola, Adamawa State, Bell Dome Hospital Consult rendered free medical services to the people of the state.

The owner and Managing Director of the Hospital, Dr Abdullahi Belel in an interview with Journalists at his office in Yola said as a Physician is duty-bound to honour the day.

According to him, the hospital is new but the concept conceived ten years ago to provide good health care services from the private sector to help people access better health care services.

“Cost of health is high and is always at the increase I decided to close the gap between the huge demands of medical care between the rich and the poor who could not afford better health care services.

” We are here to beat down the cost and give the highest quality health care services as much as possible,” Bell said

He continued to say that the Physicians’ week is an every year event that every Doctor has to honour to promote their values, hence the decision to render free health care services to the people.

He explained that the two days scheduled for the free test has screened over four hundred outpatients at the hospital Laboratory on Diabetes, Malaria, HIV, Hepatitis B, Typhoid fever and respiratory tract infections.

Abdullahi revealed that the screened conducted to the people shown that are common ailments which can be prevented without coming to the hospital to spend so much money.

Bell an expert on public health said the idea behind the Bell Dome Hospital Consult is to make sure the health system works.

Bell taken the journalists round the Hos edifice, he said the operation of the hospital is 24 hours seven days with full and part-time Doctors and Nurse with uncountable visiting Doctors in and outside the country.

He further revealed that the Hospital is well furnished with state of the art equipment, a seventy five-bed space of four sick bed in all the wards, two theatres, Amenity suits, Laboratory, Records departments and Many single rooms amenities on a twenty-four hours service every week.

One of the screened outpatient,Commodore (Rtd) Umar Adamu praised the inititor of the Hospital to have thought of a brilliant idea of such.

He said as far as he knows no private Hospital like Bell Dome in Adamawa state and judging by what he saw on ground the hospital is of international standard.

Head of Laboratory department, Mr Ahmed Bashir when interviewed said the screening was hitch-free and people are still trumping for the services.
