PLASIEC, IFES collaborate to have a credible LGA Election in Plateau State

The Plateau state independent Electoral commission {PLASIEC} received members of the International Foundation for Electoral System {IFES} At the PLASIEC head office the collaboration was initiated during a meeting held. This is said to be the first collaboration IFES will do with PLASIEC.

Hon. Planji Daniel Cishak in his welcoming speech welcomed the IFES delegation and highlighted the significant roles IFES have played in Nigeria’s Electoral processes since 1998. He also assured the representatives of IFES the readiness to learn new ideas to improve the forthcoming PLASIEC elections and beyond.

We are delighted to have you here at this critical point in time, our team is passionate about success and committed to enhancing this institution’s standards. We are open to new ideas, corporation and funding to make this institution profitable and effective ” Hon. Cishak said.

Mr. Selay Jah, the Director of IFES in the country responded saying “our goal is to model good elections in Nigeria and if successful, Plateau state will serve as an example for other states”.
Mr. Jah also highlighted the importance of including permanent staff, and Press in the discussions, recognising their role in carrying forward the positive changes initiated the commission.

Barr. Pam Gyang Davou, Secretary of PLASIEC, expressed gratitude to IFES delegation that the commission under the guidance of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang is ready to conduct the best election ever in the history of Plateau state.
